I am MELECIA MCCLEAN, and I am a Cybersecurity Awareness Educator and Speaker, and I have been for 4 years now. My mission is to make cyberspace safe through spreading awareness.

I have a BA in Accounting from the Prairie View A&M University, and M.S in Accounting from the Prairie View A&M University. I also bagged an M.S in Security Management from the University of Houston (Downtown) and I am a certified ScrumMaster (CSM) in Cybersecurity Fundamentals (Trend Micro)

My core values are integrity, transparency and accountability. I use a range of learning methods in security awareness training to help to raise awareness of Cyber Security threats, reduce the risks associated with cyber-attacks, and embed a culture of security compliance in organizations. My niche audience is to business owners on Cyber Awareness, which includes building an Awareness Program and best practices.

I’ve had experience working as an accountant from 2012 to 2014, and then a senior accountant since 2014 till date. I presently am the Managing Director of Girls in Tech, a non-profit in Houston, and our goal is to lead a cross functional team to accelerate the growth of diverse and innovative women entering the high-tech industry and relationships. We achieve this through the creation of proprietary, ground breaking programming and strategic global partnerships.

I own Wonder Hub, where we develop and teach endpoint security training to small business and provide the fundamentals of cybersecurity. We also build partnership with The Ion Houston to teach young adults and parents Cyber hygiene and best practices to apply to their daily lives. I am the founder and Chief Learning Officer of Cyber Society, where we develop interactive learning activities which introduces our elementary aged students to cybersecurity fundamentals, coding and design thinking. Our mission is to expose and equip our children with the tools to protect themselves in the cyberspace and excel in tech.
